An hourly rate rewards the slowest technician and punishes the clearest diagnosis. Our pricing works the other way round: a fixed quote before work begins, based on a proper inspection, and a refundable AED 200 inspection fee for jobs that need a site visit before anyone can honestly quote. Here is exactly how that works.
How European Technical prices Dubai maintenance work: fixed quotes, a refundable AED 200 inspection fee, and no hourly drifting. Honest pricing explained.
A fixed quote means the number we write is the number you pay, unless you change the scope. It forces us to diagnose properly before pricing, because an under-quoted job is our loss, not yours. Reactive repairs, AMC scheduled visits and snag list rectifications are all quoted this way. The quote itemises the fault found, the work to correct it and the materials involved, so you can see what each element costs. If inspection reveals a different cause than first suspected, we requote before proceeding; we never simply carry on and revise the invoice afterwards.
Where a fault needs a physical visit before it can be priced, we charge a refundable AED 200 inspection fee. It covers the technician's time, the diagnostic measurements and the written findings. If you proceed with the quoted repair, the AED 200 is deducted from the job price; you effectively pay nothing for the inspection. If you decide not to proceed, the fee stands, because the diagnosis and report have value on their own, and you keep that report to use with any contractor. We think that is fairer than inflating every job to absorb free visits.
Materials, access and time. Materials are quoted at cost plus a stated margin. Access matters more than most clients expect: a leak in a ceiling void behind a finished kitchen costs more to reach than the same leak in an accessible plant cupboard, and we say so before starting. Urgency is the third factor; emergency containment outside working hours carries a priority rate we state on the phone before dispatch. What does not change the price: your community, the size of your property, or how busy the season is. Summer AC failures are quoted by the same rules as January callouts.
We invoice in the company name with our licence details available for your records, and payment terms are stated on the quote. For landlord and facilities clients we can invoice against purchase orders and supply completion documentation for each job, which most building management teams require before releasing payment. Workmanship on our repairs carries a written guarantee period stated on the invoice; if the same fault returns within it, we return and rectify at no charge. That commitment is only possible because we diagnose before we cut.
Straight answers, before you book.
Yes, when you proceed with the quoted repair. The fee is deducted from the job total, so the inspection costs you nothing beyond the work you were going to have done anyway. If you do not proceed, the fee is retained, and you keep the written diagnostic report with findings and recommendations, which you own regardless of who does the work.
Often, yes. Photos of a fault, model numbers of units and error codes let us quote many repairs without a visit, and those quotes carry no inspection fee. Where the cause is not yet clear, a physical inspection is the honest route, because quoting blind produces inflated prices that cover every possibility. We will tell you which situation yours is.
No. Travel is included in the fixed quote, and nothing is added for your community, property size or season. The only cost that can change a quote is a scope change: inspection revealing a different fault than first assessed, which we requote before touching. You will never receive an invoice for work you did not approve in writing.
